La Pointe du Roc at Granville, Normandy

The lighthouse at Pointe du Roc in Granville was built in 1826 at a cost of 39,000 francs. It survived the Second World War unscathed as it was painted green to camouflage it. Granite from the Chausey Isles was used in its construction. Although it is not possible to go inside, you do get great views of the surrounding area. Granville is 25 minutes from Gavray.
