This year the general public will have the chance to ride the route the riders will take on the opening day of the tour – Le Grand Départ. The event will take place on Sunday 26 June and there are three routes available to cater for all abilities. The 189km route starts from Mont St Michel and follows the route the professionals will take on 2 July. An 80km route starting at Lessay and the shortest route (44km) begins in Montebourg.
